MBX systems are different from conventional surfacepreparation systems in that MBX systems are based onseveral physical principles: Flexible belts are insertedloosely into a cage-like adaptor system and securedwith safety arms. The centrifugal force created byrotation causes the belt to tighten and work as ifsuspended on an air cushion.The vibration of the wire bristles (occurring when thebristles first strike the target surface) is absorbed by theair-cushion. The bristles re-strike the surface, immediatelyfollowing the first strike, dampening any remainingvibration and briefly stopping & releasing the bristles.Another full-rotation of the bristles and maximum kineticenergy is applied at the initial strike
